The Retired Father of Business Incubator Indonesia: Prof. Hadikaria Purwadaria

More than 40 years Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadikaria Purwadaria has served as a lecturer at Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), precisely at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystems, Faculty of Agricultural Technology. A variety of speeches were delivered by colleagues and students under his guidance at the retirement ceremony in IPB International Convention Center, 21/1.

Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc expressed his deep impression for the figure of Prof. Hadikaria. "He is an educator with a great interest in his scientific field." Not only colleagues in IPB gave good impressions on the role of Prof. Hadikaria, but also other wider communities. For example, they call Prof. Hadikaria the Father of Indonesia Business Incubator as he has such a big concern in developing the concept of business incubator in Indonesia.

Sincen2004, Prof. Hadikaria has published about 31 international research and development and 35  national publications and during his career he received the best award for the SME Incubation IPTEKDA –LIPI in 2006, Best Researcher of RUT VIII from Research and Technology Ministry in 2005, Best Researcher of RUT I-VI from the Research and Technology Ministry in 2002, Best Paper in 16th  ASEAN Seminar on Grain Post Harvest Technology, Phuket, Thailand, 24-26 August 1993, Best Paper in ASEAN Seminar on Grain Post Harvest Technology, Manila, Philippines, 5-8 November 1991, and the Badge of Satya Lencana Karya of 30 years.

Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystems IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Desrial said that Prof.Hadikaria is a professor of mechanical engineering and Biosystems who hold a great concern to his field of discipline. He often advises to always keep abreast with Biosystems engineering abroad. He was also a pioneer in the development of agricultural mechanization and won the young entrepreneurship championship in the favorite category

Another impression was also expressed the Deputy of Industry and Trade in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Edi Putra Irawadi. He said that Prof. Hadikaria is a mentor and leader. The presence of Prof. Hadikaria in the Office of Ministry of Economic Affairs is an asset because of his practices in incubators and knowledge. (Mtd)
