South Korean Students Visit IPB

Students from South Korea Universities, the Soul Women and Chanaan Foundation simultaneously visited Bogor Agricultural University. The official reception for the two teams were held  at the Campus Dramaga, Bogor, on 15 July 2011.

The teams consisted of 10 (ten) students from Soul Women University, and 32 (thirty two) students from Chanaan Foundation.  For the 10 (ten) students from the Soul Women University this visit is the second for its kind  in year 2011. They were received at the  Auditorium of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences by Kasubdit Student Welfare, Directorate of Student Affairs IPB, Megawati Simanjuntak, SP, M.Sc. The Kuruang Clothes Dance from  Minang, West Sumatra, was performed as welcome  dance by the students of Bogor Agricultural University. 

"The one-day visit by the Chanaan Foundation brought the best students from South Korean universities. At Bogor Agricultural University, they planned to have cultural exchange program, and  to learn more about the University and  Indonesia as well, "as stated by the committee, Ms. Silvia Sari

Whereas for the 10  (ten) students from the Soul Women University, they planned  to have the similar program with their previous batch of students, to have some cultural exchange activities in for a week, on 13-21 July 2011.

We will introduce our university for them, our laboratory facilities, such as the ICDF, SEAFAST CENTER, traditional foods, traditional costumes, to teach them how to make noodles from maize, as well as other cuisines. Then we will bring them to learn more about  Indonesia by visiting Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (The Indonesian in the Miniature)  and the Bogor Botanical Gardens (KBR), "Silvia said.

Bogor Agricultural University is the Green Campus

One student formn  Soul Women University, Hwa Sung Lee, gave her comments on the University. She said that Bogor Agricultural University  is a green campus, it has varieties of plants and flowers that are not aavailable in South Korea. "IPB is a green campus," said Sung Hwa Lee, who has shoulder-length hair and straight.

    
Sung confessed, that she first sighted the banana tree, here in  Indonesia. "The  banana tree is tall and big," She said with a smile (Wied).
