IPB University once again inaugurated 800 graduates in the Graduation Phase I of the 2025/2026 Academic Year which took place at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Dramaga Campus, Wednesday (8/20). The graduates consisted of 18 doctoral program graduates, 106 masters, and 676 undergraduates.

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in his speech expressed his pride for the achievements of the graduates, both in the academic and non-academic fields. According to him, the success of graduates is a clear evidence of IPB University’s educational ecosystem that supports intellectual growth as well as character.

“Alhamdulillah, the survey results show that 65 percent of students are very proud to be part of IPB University, 28 percent are proud, while those who are not proud are only under one percent. This shows the love of students to their alma mater, “said Prof Arif.

Prof Arif emphasized the importance of leadership, starting from leading yourself to leading the future. “What we face is disruptive change, from technology, business, to public policy. Therefore, the ability to lead change and lead the future is an important provision for IPB University graduates,” he said.

In addition, Prof Arif also explained the achievements of IPB University at the international level. In the last seven years, IPB University’s ranking has increased from 800th to 399th in the world. In the field of agriculture and forestry, IPB University is now ranked 49th in the world, in the top 10 in Asia, and first in Southeast Asia.

“In the ranking of interdisciplinary science, IPB University is already in the 60th position in the world. Next year our target is 40, even the top 30. We must dream as high as the sky, because if we fall, we fall among the stars,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Alumni Association (HA) IPB, Dr Walneg officially inaugurated the graduates as part of the alumni family. He advised the graduates to continue to uphold the values of integrity, solidarity, and innovation, and remain active in service to the nation and alma mater. 

“Wherever you are, IPB University is our big house. Do not forget the campus, because no one is stronger in raising IPB University than the alumni themselves,” he ordered

As the closing of the graduation series, IPB University presented a special collaboration in the momentum of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. All graduates together with Agrianita IPB participated in an interactive angklung performance presented by Saung Angklung Udjo. The harmony of traditional music that echoed in GWW presented a cultural nuance as well as a symbol of gratitude and togetherness in celebrating graduation. (AS) (IAAS/RWA)
