IPB University Extends Partnership with BCA, Holds Transformation Public Lecture
As an effort to bring industry perspectives directly to students in the midst of amid the rapid digital transformation, IPB University together with PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) held a public lecture entitled “Transformation is a Journey Without Final Destination”, Monday (5/26) at IPB Dramaga Campus.
This activity is also part of BCA’s Bakti which aims to provide practical insights to students through direct interaction with industry professionals, while supporting the improvement of the quality of higher education in the country.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Collaboration and Alumni Relations, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar in his speech expressed his gratitude for BCA’s contribution in supporting education at IPB University, both through organizing this public lecture and providing scholarships.
He also expressed his appreciation for the scholarship assistance from BCA which is annually given to around 40 IPB University students. Until the end of 2024, more than 10.000 IPB University students have benefited from various scholarship schemes with total funds raised of Rp125 billion.
“We hope that these scholarship recipients will become agents of change who are not only academically successful, but also able to make extraordinary contributions to the nation,” he said.
On the same occasion, an extension of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between IPB University and BCA was also signed. This cooperation covers the fields of education, research, community service, improving the quality of human resources, and providing financial services. This MoU is the foundation for long-term strategic cooperation in the field of education.
BCA Director John Kosasih was also present as the keynote speaker. He shared BCA’s long journey of transformation from a trading company to one of the leading digital banks in Indonesia.
He emphasized that transformation is a process that never stops, especially in facing the challenges of today’s digital world.
“Transformation is a journey without an end point. We at BCA continue to innovate, adapt to technological developments, and listen to customer needs to remain relevant in the midst of increasingly fierce competition,” John Kosasih explained.
During the session, John also motivated the students to have a growth mindset, a spirit of learning, and readiness to face the changing world of work. He emphasized that success is born from preparation and the ability to read opportunities.
“Success is a meeting between preparation and opportunity. Prepare yourself as well as possible, because opportunities can come at any time,” he concluded. (Fj) (IAAS/Ard)
