Farmers and Fishermen Center Introduces IPB Digitani for Forest Farmers Group in Sukamulya Village, Cianjur
IPB University’s Farmers and Fishermen Center (TNC) together with the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (BBTNGGP) successfully held a socialization and practice of IPB Digitani and the development of economic alternatives for Forest Farmers Groups (KTH). The event was held at KTH Sauyunan Lestari, Sukamulya Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java on Thursday (25/7).
The event was attended by Dr Roza Yusfiandayani (Vice Chief of TNC IPB University), Lana Sari, SPi, MSc (Chief of PTN Region I Cianjur BBTNGGP), Bambang Mulyawan, SH, MH (Section Chief of PTN Region II BBTNGGP), Rimna Margaretha Brahmana, AMd (forestry extension officer) and 8 KTH leaders and 10 KTH Sauyunan Lestari members.
“We present TNC IPB University to be able to help you in developing agriculture, fisheries and livestock for KTH. Thank you 8 KTH who have attended, namely KTH Mekar, Mandiri, Leuweung Hejo, Giri Pangrango, Berkah Remaja Parabon, Sauyunan Lestari, and KTH Raksa Alam,” said Lana Sari.
Dr Roza said the socialization and practice of IPB Digitani was attended by 20 farmers and activists of the Nusantara Farmers Movement from Yogyakarta and Magelang. The farmers were very enthusiastic about this activity.
“I am very happy to be given the opportunity to discuss and be able to introduce IPB Digitani for KTH so that each KTH can consult and communicate about horticultural crops such as chili, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, as well as about goat and cow farming,” she said.
This IPB University lecturer at the Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization (PSP) added, “You can directly open the IPB Digitani website or platform and can consult directly with the IPB University Expert Council. Hopefully IPB Digitani can provide benefits for KTH in Region 1 Cianjur,” said Dr Roza.
In addition, Dr Roza also introduced the innovation of portable FADs for fishing aids. She hopes that the fishermen present can use it so that their productivity can increase.
