IPB University students who are members of the Generasi Cerdas Iklim (GCI) community carried out the Bogor Children’s Declaration Campaign for National Climate Change Action. This activity was carried out in commemoration of the 2023 National Children’s Day, located at the Innovation Park, IPB Dramaga Campus. The event was attended by more than 150 children and their parents.

“In this campaign, we made four posts including climate change education post, play area, parent survey and plant seedling distribution. Children are given an understanding of climate change and its impacts through interactive videos, posters and direct explanations by GCI members,” said Silvia, one of the GCI members.

In addition, she continued, children also played to sort various types of waste, play puzzles with pictures of natural disasters and coloring with environmental themes. Not only children, parents also participated in filling out questionnaires on the theme of children’s habits towards contributing to the prevention of climate change.

The activity ended with making handprints on recycling banners, giving signatures in the children’s declaration and distributing plant seeds and laying out a plant distribution map.

“Thank you GCI for the fun activity. We also received durian seeds that we will plant in our garden. Happy National Children’s Day to the children of the world. May you become the next generation for the good of the world and fulfill your rights as children and always be happy,” said Adjrin, one of the parents who attended with his child.
