IPB Team Wins the General Winner in the 2018 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo

Director of Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), Dr. Didin Wahidin, M.Sp closed the 2018 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI) in 2018 which was held at the Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (11/11). On the night of this closing, the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) team became the highest winner of the first place in the KMI Award.

There are five categories that are contested are Class A and B Food and Beverages, Production and Cultivation, Class A and B Services and Trade, Class A and B Creative Industries, and Technology.

In the class A food and beverage category, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were achieved by the International University, IPB and the Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ), B class 1, 2 and 3 won by the University of Lampung, Gajah Mada University (UGM) and High School Economics of Dewantara.

In the category of creative class A, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were won by the University of Indonesia, Jogjakarta State University and STKIP PGRI Tulungagung. Class B, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were Nahdatul Ulama University, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and University of Muhammad Natsir Bukittinggi.

In the service category and class A trade, the first, second and third place winners were Diponegoro University, Creative Media Polytechnic and Riau University. Class B, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place won by IPB, Jambi University and Amikom University Yogyakarta.

In the production and cultivation categories, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were won by IPB, University of PGRI Madiun and Padang State Polytechnic. For the technology category 1st, 2nd and 3rd place won by UGM, Malang State University (UM) and IPB.

In addition to winning the first place, IPB was also named the Best Stand I, followed by the Indonesian Education University (UPI) as the Second Best, UGM the Third Best, Eleven March University as the fourth and Lampung University as the fifth.

The Expo this time raised the theme "Strengthening Indonesian Student Entrepreneurs Through Techno-Sociopreneurship in Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0" and became an arena for 124 universities to showcase their students' entrepreneurial activities.

"On behalf of the ministry, I would like to thank the participants who have worked hard and are expected to benefit us all, for Indonesia, so that Indonesia can become a developed country in the future. I hope that the Dramaga Declaration that has been spoken by students to KMI can be carried out as well as possible to advance Indonesian entrepreneurship, "said Dr. Didin when closing the event.

Meanwhile, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of IPB, Dr. Ir. Syarifah Iis Aisyah and Chair of the KMI 2018 said that with the formation of this Indonesian student entrepreneurship network, it is expected that the boundaries between universities can be dissolved so that there is only the spirit of building together.

"The great enthusiasm  to improve the efforts of Indonesian youth, so that it has the competitiveness of its creative and innovative products. At least in the ASEAN region, in the era of the 2030 demographic bonus, " said , Dr. Ir. Syarifah. (jhn)
