In an effort to expand its impact and reach a wider audience, IPB Press has established a partnership with Library@Orchard, located in the centre of Singapore. The move is part of IPB Press' efforts in developing the Literacy Export programme.

Director of IPB Press, Erick Wahyudyono accompanied by Aditya Dwi Gumelar as company secretary had the opportunity to meet and discuss with Michelle LAU, Deputy Director of the National Library Board which is in charge of Library@Orchard. The themes discussed were about literacy development and cooperation in publishing the works of IPB Press authors in English.

"We are very excited to work with Library@Orchard in promoting literacy and introducing our scientific works to the public. Through this collaboration, we hope to encourage interest in reading and knowledge among the community, as well as expand the impact of research and thought produced by IPB University," he said.

Library@Orchard is a modern library in the centre of Singapore's famous Orchard Road. Library@Orchard became the first overseas library to start cooperation with IPB Press. The Library@Orchard concept is very interesting as a benchmarking business model and process.

"IPB Press as a leading publisher in the field of scientific literature and part of IPB University which is known for its academic excellence, has been committed to encouraging the development of knowledge and literacy awareness among students, academics and the general public," said Erick.

According to him, IPB Press highly appreciates the literacy works of writers from various fields, one of which is done with the Literacy Export programme. This programme focuses on spreading literacy abroad, especially for books that have been published by IPB Press in English.

"The goal, in addition to making the work of IPB Press writers known throughout the world, is also to introduce the diversity of IPB Press works from experts and experts in their fields," he continued.

Erick added, this collaboration will also benefit Library@Orchard visitors and members who will have access to wider literacy resources and get the opportunity to engage in diverse intellectual activities.

"Through this synergy, both institutions are committed to creating an environment that allows easy access to scholarly literature, quality research and personal development through literacy activities," he said.

In addition, Library@Orchard will host exciting literacy events and provide a platform for authors and readers to interact.

"We are very pleased to receive the collection from IPB Press. Through this collaboration, we hope to provide an environment that stimulates interest in reading and knowledge, and increases literacy collections for the community. In addition, there are opportunities for IPB Press to participate in bidding for the procurement of additional collections from the library," said Michelle LAU, Deputy Director of the National Library Board-Singapore.

On that occasion, IPB Press submitted several English titles which were welcomed by Library@Orchard as additional library collections. The books include Rector's Message: A New Mindset for Transformation by Prof Arif Satria, Indonesian Forest Fires and Control Efforts by Prof Bambang Hero Saharjo, The Uniqueness of ASEAN Food by Prof Winiati P Rahayu, Restoration of Sugar Industry in Indonesia: PTPN Road Map Improving National Sugar by Dr Mohammad Abdul Gani, and Building resilience of Agrifood Systems Through Innovation and Digital Technology by Prof Musa Hubeis.
