In the Latest Strategic Plan, IPB University Strengthens the Progress of Research Centers in Society, Industry and Government
Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), IPB University, Dr.Ir. Aji Hermawan invited the head of the center to discuss the position of the center of study in the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of IPB. This was done to carry out mapping and strategic planning. “The centers try to understand the problem, the strength of opportunities faced by the center, how to move forward to support IPB’s vision. Therefore, what is the central map, how we together design the study center to be more empowered to contribute to IPB University, “said Dr. Aji at the Tropical Tropical Horticulture Study Center, Baranangsiang Campus of IPB University, Thursday (11/4).
When opening the event the Rector of IPB University, Dr. Arif Satria, delivered the IPB University Strategic Plan to be elaborated at the central level. These centers are our spearhead for transforming research results into the community and for strengthening the industry. We must be able to support the government by recommending appropriate policies, so that IPB University has more roles in society. I hope that the centers must be more concrete in conducting educational activities to assist the community, while strengthening the industry with IPB University innovations. Besides that, they contribute ideas to support the government, so that the community, industry and government see the contribution of IPB. “The Strategic Plan is made for the next five years and must be a reference, so that our moves will be in line,” said the Rector of IPB. Therefore, said the Rector of IPB University, the units in IPB University in the Strategic Plan must have the target program as a measure of refusal.
“I hope that IPB University through research centers has a role in three things, namely the acceleration of community development, industrial straighten, governance support. Inevitably the domain is in the LPPM and the center. It is hoped that the study centers are able to map, place their positions, focus can be various, can go to the community, be able to industry and provide support to the government. In that framework we want IPB to be everywhere as small as possible. His contribution showed that IPB University was present. In addition to responding to technology 4.0, the Rector of IPB University conveyed the need to accelerate evolution. IPB University must be able to present innovation technology that is truly present in the community, because that innovation will be emulated by the community.
