In order to realize the 17 pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (FEM of IPB) held a Agribusiness Startup Talkshow. This activity was one of a series of Agribusiness for SGD's in 2018. The startup talkshow with the theme "Building Agribusiness Startups in Realizing Sustainable Development Goals" was held at IPB International Convention Center, (2/10).

Through this startup talkshow, young people were invited to get to know the business directly from the practitioners. Four speakers from four different startups were invited to provide material to participants. The speakers were Edi Pratama (CEO of Musim Panen Harmonis), Michael Jovan (Founder of Tani Group), Muhammad Taufiq Ridho (Marketing of Angon Indonesia), and Agus Ali Nurdin (CEO of Okiagaru Farm).

Initiator of Agribusiness for SDG's activities, Dr. Bayu Krisnamurthi, M.Sc., said that SDG's is one of the motivations for someone to establish a startup. In principle, establishing a business or startup will certainly open up new jobs, which is one of the pillars of SDG's. The pillar in question is the eighth pillar which states 'economic growth and decent work'.

"We hope that with this startup talkshow the participants, especially young ones, will be more enthusiastic in pursuing the business world. Don't ever give up in setting up a startup," said Bayu.

Bayu also emphasized that the agribusiness startup is not only based on technology or digital. According to him, digital technology is only limited as the tool used to support and develop owned startups. He also suggested to pray sincerely, because prayer is the main weapon for the main businessmen, especially for Muslim businessmen.

Chairman of the Department of Agribusiness of FEM of IPB, Dr. Ir. Dwi Rachmina, M.Sc., said that the effort to realize sustainable development in Indonesia is a shared obligation for all elements of society. Through this startup talkshow, she tried to introduce SDG's pillars and invited youth to take part directly in realizing these pillars.

"We deliberately invite young people because those young people will later realize the entire pillars of SDG's. Not only that, we hold this talkshow so that many young people would like to become entrepreneurs from startups," said Dr. Dwi.

Dr. Dwi admitted that attention to sustainable development has long been given. One example is the giving of Agribusiness Politics course for tje students of FEM of IPB. The course material discuss about sustainable development efforts through agribusiness, especially those related to 17 SDG's pillars.

This year the Department of Agribusiness of FEM of IPB is trying to take new steps in an effort to support the realization of sustainable development in Indonesia. This step was realized through the holding of the Agribusiness for SDG's series in 2018. The series of activities from agribusiness for SDG's 2018 were video competition, startup talkshow, national seminar, and Future Agribusiness Leader Conference (FALCon). The event was also enlivened by an expo which was filled by 26 booths from companies, startups, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

"This year we are trying to invite various parties so that they will understand that the support from them is needed to realize sustainable development. We do this because SDG's will not be realized if there is no synergy between one party and the other," concluded Dr. Dwi. (Rosyid/Zul/ZSP)
