Success Rate of Tenant Incorporated in Incubie IPB Achieves 83 Percent
The success of incubation tenant program incorporated in Incubator Business (IncuBie) Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) reached 83 percent. This was conveyed by the Head of Incubie LPPM IPB, Dr.Ir. Rokhani Hasbullah upon receiving the visit of Incubator Business of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) to Incubie IPB (17/4).
"The success rate of the tenant incubation program is 83 percent. The tenant's performance is measured by the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) which includes increased production capacity, increased turnover, business bookkeeping, business legality and product certification, increased labor force and expansion of marketing areas," Dr. Rokhani.
In the discussion, Dr. Rokhani explained the entrepreneurship development program in IPB and the flow of commercialization of research results in IPB and the management of Business Incubator in the incubation program on startup tenant.
Incubie IPB is under LPPM which is determined based on the Rector's Decree (SK). Incubation program financing in Incubie is done independently (self-finance) from the result of cooperation with stakeholders.
The incubation program for 2-3 years begins by preparing agreement contract with tenants related to rights and obligations. Incubation activities include training (entrepreneurship, leadership, technical production, packaging design, finance, marketing, business management), business development mentoring, business legality assistance, IPR registration, business plan development, product quality testing and development, license management (PIRT, MD, PD), halal certification, etc., and the development of business networks to financial institutions, investors, markets, suppliers, and so on.
Some of the displayed tenants were Saesha Mask, Chick'n Tea, Palaboo, Bearkery, Banduri (processed milkfish) and Pratanak Rice.
Chairman of LPPM UNY, Dr.H. Suyanta as well as the leader of the six people said that they want to learn about the governance and business development in higher education. In addition, they also want to gain experience from Incubie IPB in terms of business incubator governance for startup business assistance.
"We hope the results of this visit can increase our insight in improving the role of LPPM UNY business incubator in incubating startup at DIY Yogyakarta," he said. [TK]
