The Visit of The Jumat Keliling Team of IPB to Dramaga Village
The Jumat Keliling (Jumling Friday Tour) team of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) arrived in DramagaVillage, Dramaga Disrict, Bogor Regemcy, on on Friday, 29 September 2017. This Jumling Program was centralized in Majelis Taklim Al-Hikmah, Jalan Dramaga Haji Abas RT.02 RW.01.Kegiatan kali ini ditempatkan di Majelis Taklim Al-Hikmah, Jalan Dramaga Haji Abas RT.02 RW.01.
IPB is committed to run the Jumling program for the communities of villages located around IPB campus. The focus of the present Jumling program is the implementation of sanitation and hygiene models on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for home industry on Food.
Head of Dramaga Village, Yayat Supriatna, expressed his gratitude for IPB as the Institute has established partnership programs through IPB Jumling program. Further he explained that IPB has been assisting Dramaga communities not only in providing facilities and development of agriculture sector as well as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), but also sponsored many orphans. "Hopefully, IPB continues to provide assistance, so that the life of communities of village around the campus are improved. " he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub District of Dramaga, Baehaki, SE, expected that IPB Jumling program for 17 villages around the Dramaga campus should be maintained and sustainable. "The existence of IPB with its Jumling program has provided lot of benefits and it helps the communities around the campus to develop rapidly, to provide assistance and guidance for agricultural development to improve the prosperity of the communities," he explained.
Chairman of IPB Jumling Team of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB was its Deputy Head of Research and Community Service, Dr. Hartoyo, stated that the ultimate goal of IPB Jumling program for 17 villages around campus is to promote the existence of IPB for the communities around the campus, and to tighten the bonds, and to provide assistance and guidance for education, health, economy and environment, and agricultural development in the broad sense," he said.
Dr. Hartoyo also expressed his hope that the campus community would communicate directly and come to IPB. "The communities of villages around the campus, especially the communities of Dramaga Village, must learn and be able to pursue their study at IPB, the campus of the people. As young generation you must work hard to reach your goal. What we have in IPB, we will share to the communities around the campus." he said.
The present Jumling activity in Dramaga Village was started by the Training Course on "Penerapan Higiene dan Sanitasi pada Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) Industri Rumah Tangga Pangan di Desa (Training Course on the Application of Hygiene and Sanitation on Small Micro Enterprises and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Household Food Industry in the Village)". The Training Course was organized by SEAFAST Research and Community Service Center of IPB, led by its researcher Ms. Allia Laksmi Nurdin, M.Si. This training provides knowledge of how business actors can produce food, maintain hygiene and take precautions to avoid food and drink from dangerous risks, whether physical, chemical, or biological hazards that can cause illness.
The recent Jumling program was coincided with the provision of cash donations for 25 orphans; providing health equipment for Posyandu; as well as learning tools, Iqro and Qur'an books, for Majelis Taklim.
