Bike to Campus of IPB Inflamed the Green Campus

Spirit fostered the love for the environment which had the transportation that was healthy, friendly as well as supporting for the Campus Green Transportation Program which was continued to be transmitted by the team of Bike to Campus (BtC), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The team of BtC of IPB consisting of lecturers, staff and civitas coordinated by the Faculty of Forestry (Fahutan) of IPB and the Director of Forestry Information Center of IPB as well as the bike transportation lovers were presented as the contribution form to the green transportation program being promoted.

The activity into the civitas environment was manifested with the movement of BtC on a regular basis, while the campaign of the movement of GT of IPB to the off-campus environment was by participating in various bike events in the areas of Bogor and West Java. The event of West Java level was followed by the team of BtC of IPB, among others the cycling movement of Bike to Work Chapter of Tasikmalaya namely the 8th tour de Pangandaran. The team of BtC of IPB participated as the participants of approximately 3,500 people from various communities and individuals from all over Indonesia. On this occasion, BtC of IPB sent the delegates as many as 14 people from 16 people who planned to participate. The journey that covered the distance of  107 kilometers starting from Tasikmalaya, Cimaragas, Banjar, Banjarsari, Kalipucang and to finish in Pangandaran could complete within 10 hours starting from 07.30 WIB and fisnishing at 17.00 WIB.  The most interesting moment was in every journey, the team of BtC of IPB always attached the spirit of “Green Campus IPB” in each attribute.

Going forward, the team of BtC hoped that the activity program of the bike lovers in IPB was more full and consistent in moving the transportation love program of the environmentally friendly. Other than that, the enthusiasts and the lovers of the green transportation by bike were also increasing. With the massive efforts the environmentally friendly transportation movement in IPB, BtC would create the safe and comfortable environment for all. In the next September in the series of Dies Natalis of IPB, the team of BtC hoped that there would be the healthy bike program from the Campus of IPB of Baranangsian ahead to the Campus of Dramaga to be done.  Being aware of the building awareness of the living in harmony with the nature through the love of the friendly transportation required the long education time. So that, the team of BtC of IPB determined to continue to inflame the spirit of love of the bike inside the campus to all academic civitas of IPB. So the green campus program became the agenda which was inherent in the heart of the academic civitas of IPB as the lifestyle.
