Banten Province Government Visited Guided Family Empowerment Post of IPB

Human Resource Development Center (P2SDM), Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) together with Yayasan Damandiri received again the group of Observation Study Tour (OST), Wednesday (16/3). The group of OST this time was from Banten Province Government. Wife of the Governor of Banten, Dewi Indriati Rano Karno and Local Work Unit (SKPD) of Banten Province Government were accepted at Family Empowerment Post (Posdaya) of Puspa Lestari, Kelurahan Pasir Kuda, West Bogor Sub-district, Bogor City.

 

Dewi Indriati conveyed, she and the group of OST intended to see firsthand the success of the Family Empowerment Post of Puspa Lestari which was the national referral, and consecutively ranked 2nd nationally. “The Family Empowerment Post of Puspa Lestari Pasir Kuda successfully develops the nutrition garden environment by utilizing the household yard, so as to create a cool green city,” she said.

 

Chairman of the Family Empowerment Post of Puspa Lestari, Kartono, said, the cadre of the Family Empowerment Post together with the local residents  took advantage of the house yard or the environment around the house for planting. “At a minimum in each house there are 5-10 plants, so it will be beautiful, clean and cool environment,” he said.

 

Meanwhile, Chairman of Yayasan Damandiri, Prof.Dr. Haryono Suyono, said, he was very proud of the success of the Family Empowerment Post of Puspa Lestari. Moreover, he continued, now having volunteers were ready to help develop the Family Empowerment Post towards better. “Hopefully the volunteers can invite the rich people to be able to distribute their wealth to help the poor people in the surrounding environment. Helping to assist the people who are not able is the duty and our responsibility as the living beings,“ he added.

 

In the same place, the researcher of P2SDM of LPPM of IPB, Ir. Yannefri Bachtiar, M.Si, expected, in order the Family Empowerment Post of Puspa Lestari could maintain the achievement and always had new ideas and innovations.(awl)
