The Visit of Belgian Princess to IPB for Signing MoU

Belgian Princess led economic mission to Indonesia. In Her mission, Princess Astrid, the younger sister of Belgian monarch King Philippe, Belgium, visited IPB (Bogor Agricultural University). Her visit simultaneously had established the collaboration between the Indonesian and Belgium Government in terms of sustainability of food and agriculture. For the cooperation mission, IPB as the leading university in agriculture in Indonesia 1had established international cooperation with the University of Gent, Belgium for research and  educational program. 

 

Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, in his  remarks he expressed his sincere welcome for the  courtesy-call of Princess Astrid of Belgium to IPB. Her visit carried  important mission to IPB namely to promote friendship between the two countries. With regard for research program, Rector explained it will include the natural resource depletion as it become the public concern.  In addition, empowerment of local communities in various forms for social interactions of bio-physical and socio-economic.

 

The serial activities was organized that include signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was preceded by a seminar presentation of research Belgium experts on Indonesia. Dozens of Belgian researchers research reports were presented on this seminar.

 

Among the Guest of Honors, including the Minister’s Expert Staff for Innovation and Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Mat Syukur; Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, of th  Ministry of Agriculture, Prof. Muladno; and the Mayor of Bogor, Dr. Bima Arya, were among the guests participated in the seminar.
