Dozens of Students of IPB and Japan Practiced in the Field in Tegal and Bogor

A total of 26 students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and 21 Japanese students incorporated in Six University Initiative Japan Indonesia (SUIJI) of Service Learning Program (SLP) performed the community service in Tegal District and Bogor District. They did a number of programs, ranging from social, economical, agricultural and cultural activities. The result of community service of Japanese and IPB students was discussed in Meeting Room of Rector, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Friday (11/3).
 
Director of Cooperation and International Program of IPB, Dr. Edy Hartulistiyoso,  congratulated the participants who had completed the dedication program for 12 days. While, the representative of Japanese, Prof. Shigeyuki Tajima, thanked IPB. “For the second time, we join in the Suiji program. We value this collaboration to be increasingly well established of the various aspects,” said Prof. Shigeyuki.
 
According to Donopan, the student of IPB involved in IPB Goes To Field (IGTF) Internasional or SUIJI, said, he together with Japanese student performed the community service in Tegal precisely in Tuwel Village. The main commodity of Tuwel Village was garlic. “There, we learn the local culture and provide the education related to the handling of waste, education, and rural local wisdom,” he said. (dh)
