IPB Graduation of Phase IV: Graduates Reach 133,779 People

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again released 801 best graduates in the Graduation Ceremony of Phase IV, Academic Year 2015/2016, Wednesday (20/1), at Graha Widya Wisuda (Graduation Building), Darmaga Campus of IPB Bogor. Of the 801 graduates, 45 graduates are of doctoral degrees, 265 graduates of Master of Science degrees, 18 graduates of Master of Management degree, 5 graduates of Professional Master’s degree, 30 graduates of Veterinarian degree, and 438 graduates of Bachelor degrees. Up to this graduation, IPB has had 133,779 alumni.


IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto congratulated the graduates. In his speech, he said that in the future our nation will continue to face challenges in the field of food that is not easily solved. The various issues are actually much related to the competence of IPB, namely agriculture.


According to him, the role and contribution of IPB in responding to the nation’s problems can be realized by improving outcomes and impacts of IPB programs. This is expected to bring multiplier effects: strengthening the system of food production, improving nutrition and public health, opening job opportunities, increasing income, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of the environment.


"I hope the graduates become an important part of this nation. Prepare by improving the competence necessary to seize opportunities in the employment competition that is becoming increasingly open and tight at the national and international levels," he said.


One of the best graduates of the Agronomy and Horticulture Program, Faculty of Agriculture (Faculty of Agriculture), Anggit Dwi Rahayu, said IPB has an atmosphere that is conducive to develop her hard skills and soft skills. "I get to know friends from various regions, learning about tolerance in diversity since the First Year Common Program (TPB). I also get to know professors who are excellent and inspiring and competent staffs. Taking studies in IPB is not only limited to agricultural sciences but also life skills. I am proud of being part of IPB," she said.


Meanwhile, Yunita Rossa, the best graduate of Doctoral Program says, having the opportunity to be graduate student at IPB is a gift that she is very thankful for. "The curriculum is offered and lectures given are adequate for me to develop science and explore it in depth," she said. (Mtd)
