Prof. Anas Miftah Fauzi: the Most Important Quality Assurance System was Openness
Office of Quality Management (KMM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again held the workshop on the strengthening of quality assurance of IPB, Monday (3/8). The Workshop which took the theme of “Penguatan Implementasi Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal untuk Gugus Penjamin Mutu (GPM) dan Gugus Kendali Mutu (GKM) Program Diploma IPB / Strengthening the Implementation of Internal Quality Assurance System for Quality Assurance Force (GPM) and Quality Control Circle (GKM) of Diploma Program of IPB” was organized in Campus of IPB Taman Kencana, Bogor.
Head of KMM, Dr. Fredinan Yulianda, mentioned that the quality assurance system was the “spirit” in the implementation of educational system in Higher Education. According to him, Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) was the part of quality assurance of the education in IPB which was with good quality and guaranteed.
“This strengthening is one of our efforts to ensure that our quality assurance system, especially in Diploma, is running well. Where the implementation of education in the higher education is required to implement the quality assurance. The implication toward the implementation is not only on the implementation process of this system itself, but the output of the result of this educational process which is also becoming the assessment. Therefore, we will do this reinforcement routinely every year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector of Research and Cooperation of IPB, Prof.Dr Anas Miftah Fauzi, in his speech, conveyed the importance of openness. “This year is the year of relevance and substance for IPB, it becomes essential for the implementation of the quality management system. Whether later the result is for the increase of international accreditation or by BAN PT. In the quality assurance system, the most important is openness. Everything will be harmonized in a large mission in order to synergize to achieve the targets that have been set together,” said Prof. Anas.
In this Workshop, it was conveyed the exposure of the material of “Evaluasi SPMI IPB, Harmonisasi SPMI dan Simaker / Evaluation of SPMI IPB, Harmonization of SPMI and Simaker” was by Head of KMM IPB, Dr. Fredinan Yulianda. Further, the material of “Standar Mutu dan Instrumen SPMI Program Diploma IPB / Quality Standards and Instruments of SPMI of Diploma Program of IPB” was by Head of Quality Standards of KMM IPB, Dr. Swastiko Priyambodo.
In this occasion, it was also conveyed the Best Practices of SPMI Implementation in Diploma Program and Diploma Expertise Program. Attending the event among others were Deputy Directors of Diploma, Chairman of Expertise Program and other educational personnels in the environment of Diploma. (AS)
