RRI Goes To Campus: Talkshow to Overcome Traffic Congestion in Bogor Monday, May 18, 2015

Student Executive Board of Student Family (BEM KM) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in collaboration with Radio of the Republic of Indonesia (RRI) of Bogor held Pro 2 Goes to Campus and Peak Night of Idea Festival 2015, Tuesday (12/5) at the Auditorium of Common Class Room of the First Year Common Program (CCR-IPB), Dramaga Campus. The activity broadcast live by RRI Bogor is packaged in a talk show with the theme "Contributions and Solution Steps of Bogor Students to Overcome Traffic Congestion".

 

Present as speakers in the talk show were IPB Rector, Prof. Dr Herry Suhardiyanto; Head of Traffic and Transportation (DLLAJ) of Bogor City, Achsin Prasetyo, ATD. M.Eng, Head of Bogor Regency DLLAJ, Soebiantoro W; and Director of RRI, Rosarita Niken W.MSi. The event was officially opened with a speech by the Rector. "Appreciation to the students for their contribution to the solution step in dealing with the traffic jam of our common concern," said Rector.

  

Rector added, "The ideas of the students are a lot, I hope these can be followed up, not ended in the talk show only as solving the congestion requires the movement of all components of the society. We should also show that the students and the community have the will to obey traffic regulations, and at the same time the government should provide adequate facilities so that this woyld really change our culture to comply with traffic regfulations".

 

Head of RRI Bogor, Dra. Ni Made Sri Widari, MM said, "In this event we invite students to care about the implementation of regional autonomy with positive steps". In line with this, the Vice President of IPB Student, Dadan Hudanulhak, said that so far IPB students have not only safeguard the policies. but also continued to carry out activities that are horizontal in nature, offering real solutions  such as the current activity called Festival of Ideas, and IPB Teaching.

 

This activity is the night peak of Idea Festival 2015 organized by BEM-KM IPB since March 2015. Idea Festival 2015 is a competition of ideas and solution-step in addressing congestion in Bogor. Of the 20 teams offering such ideas three groups are selected to implement the ideas they propose. The hope is that their ideas could be followed up by the City Government of Bogor or the Government of Bogor Regency. (Mtd)
