Head of Quality Management Office (KMM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr. Fredinand Yulianda said that that the Quality Standard of Research and Community Service is one component developed in IPB’s quality standards. Establishment of quality standards is very important as a reference in the implementation of academic and non-academic activities, both individually and institutionally in IPB.

"The research and community service standards to be developed is an elaboration of the IPB’s quality standards. This is intended to achieve the right target and achievement standards of research and community services and thus improving the quality of the process and output of research and community services in the Research and Community Service Institute, Centers, Faculties, and Departments," said Dr. Fredinand.

In order to improve the research and community service standards already set up by the formulating team, said Dr. Fredinand, then a workshop was held on the System and Quality Standards of Research and Community Services of IPB, Friday (28/11), by inviting Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Centers, Heads of Offices, Director, Heads of Bureaus, and the team formulating the quality standards of research and community service of IPB. The workshop, which took place at IPB International Convention Center (IICC) Bogor, was officially opened by IPB Rector Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto.

Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB, Dr. Prastowo said, Research and Community Services (PPM) will produce quality results if they are performed by the personnel who are competent in their field. On this occasion Dr. Prastowo cited a number of good quality criteria for PPM, namely the existence of empowerment, sharing, synergy, networking, integrity, and collaboration. All of these criteria, in his view, are a must in the PPM of good quality.

Earlier, Rector in his speech also said that this workshop is a form of collective commitment to continuous improvement in the quality of IPB. The PPM quality standards that still need betterment, he said, is expected to facilitate those who in future will conduct PPM to have a clearer understanding of the quality standards to be achieved. "There is no other choice, but the quality, quality, and quality!" he said. (Mtd)
