Telkomsel and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) Build Cooperation Tuesday, November 04, 2014
Telkomsel in the partnership signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IPB in Rector Meeting Room, Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Dramaga campus (30/10). This cooperation is in the form of activities that include sales and Telecommunication Information Communication Technology (ICT) ready to be implemented in programs that benefit the academic community of IPB.
"This collaboration is a momentum of two institutions with the same vision of serving the country. IPB is a leading agricultural college in its contributions to education, while Telkomsel is greatly Indonesian operator, serving Indonesia through the telecommunications network," said Director of Sales of Telkomsel, Mas’ud Khamid.
IPB Rector, Prof. Dr Ir. Herry Suhardianto, M.Sc in his speech said, "IPB welcomes the cooperation with Telkomsel. The development of research-based education and information technology is important to support the productivity of IPB’s academic society in creating and developing innovations. With the presence of Telkomsel in the middle of the community, especially the higher education, the cooperation with Telkomsel along with the innovations made by IPB can be implemented in the form of CSR programs. This is none but the benefit to all levels of the society. "
"In this digital age, IPB is fully aware of the importance of innovation in science and technology. For this reason, Telkomsel is committed to support it," said Mas’ud.
On the occasion, Telkomsel also invited IPB together to actively engage in the development of a digital ecosystem with the spirit of change. This is to apply and expand science, technology, art and culture for community empowerment.
Telkomsel, through its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) of IPB Care Serving in Education, provides aid worth Rp 100.000.000, -. Telkomsel also supports the agenda of Tri Dharma of University. Therefore, this moment was also used to give a public lecture to more than 350 students from all departments of IPB. This lecture takes the theme "The World In Your Hand." Director of Sales Telkomsel described the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) of the present and future, including the role of Telkomsel in Indonesia related to the lifestyle of today’s society.
"Equipped with the competence of both parties, we believe this strategic partnership will support the creation of the new era of Information Communication Technology (ICT)-based education or known as e-education. The current generation has changed. If the previous generation were X and Y, then at present we are in the era of generation Z, known as C-Gen, stands for the Connected Generation, meaning the generation that always wants to be connected and up to date with the internet, "said Mas’ud.
