Bank Central Asia (BCA) gave scholarships to 35 students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Monday (29/9) at the Senate Meeting Room, Dramaga Campus of IPB Bogor. It was symbolically handed over by the Head of BCA Operation Branch of Bogor, Debi Lorita to the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono.
Prof. Yonny, in his speech, expressed gratitude and appreciation to BCA, which has demonstrated concern over the world of education. "How much the aid is granted and whoever offers it is gladly accepted by IPB," said Prof. Yonny, accompanied by the Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi. Prof. Yonny also advised the scholarship recipients: "Some day when these students graduate and succeed in a career, keep in mind that they were once helped so they can help other students in need."
Meanwhile, Head of BCA Operation Branch of Bogor Debi Lorita told that the Bank’s support for students in need of financial assistance has been offered since 1999. Until the year 2013, the Bank aid had reached 3.8 billion for 16 State Universities throughout Indonesia, rising to 4.1 billion in the year 2014.
Debi asserts that this activity is the Bank’s commitment to the improvement of human resources through education. "BCA believes that the best students have great potential in leading this nation. In the future, hopefully we can reach out and give more students who need financial assistance," she said (Mtd)
