The Socialization of GNNT Movement at IPB
After organizing the previous socialization program for approximately 700 students, today the Directorate of Business Development, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in cooperation with Bank Indonesia have launched the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) for the Executive Boards of the Departments, Faculties and the university levels of IPB, on 15 Septmber 2014. This socialization program was implemented at the Senate Meeting Room, 6 th floor of the Rectorate Building, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor.
This special event was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor for Resources and Strategic Studies, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Siregar, M.Ec. In addition, the organizing committee invited Dr. Farida Peranginangin (Director of Policy and Payment System Oversight, Bank Indonesia), as the guest speaker, David Adiwijaya (Head of M-Finance Partnership, XL Axiata, Representing Telecommunication Company), and Faradissa (Head of Branch and Branchless Banking Process Enablement, CIMB Niaga, Representing Banking).
The Director of Business Development, Dr. Ir. Agus Oman Sudrajat, M.Sc stated, "IPB has been appointed to be one of models for the GNNT application in Indonesia, and this movement was declared as a national movement. First socialization was organized for students in campus previously. Then the canteen socialization program, including to Sapta cafeteria of Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Blue canteen of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, and Ungu canteen of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, were carried out."
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Siregar, M.Ec stated, "We consider that GNNT is a necessity program, and we can say that GNNT is a growing movement. The demands of economic development and economic integration will lead us to implement such program. GNNT aims to build public awareness of non-cash payment instruments, thereby gradually fostering a less-cash society. "
"So, non-cash instruments will have positive impact on our economy. Individually we must anticipate our financial capability carefully, thus, we won’t have shortfalls. However, we are confident that the development GDP nominal and real GDP, our national income per capita will also increase." Stated Prof. Hermanto.
At the end, Prof. Herman expressed his sincere thanks to all speakers who have attended the socialization programs at this campus. "We are very happy to have such interesting socialization program, as not all staff in the campus understand the payment system. Thus, it will be applicable," he said.
It is expected that the socialization will improve our awareness on the GNNT movement and will assist us to promote it appropriately. Hopefully the presence of the Executive Boards of IPB and the Faculties as well, the new movement will be disseminated to all campus communities. Hopefully GNNT will have successful implementation at IPB," added Dr. Agus Oman. (Wied).
