Students of Management Representing Indonesia In Malaysia International Youth Exchange Students and Lecturers at the Office of AkzoNobel Singapura

Saturday, May 24, 2014 , in Putrajaya Malaysia, some students of the Department of Management, Bogor Agricultural University Indonesia came up to represent Indonesia in Malaysia International Youth Exchange. This is an international event organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport Malaysia, attended by youth delegates from various countries. In this activity the students of Management Department IPB launched 3 kinds of art performance, namely (1) traditional dance, (2) traditional Akuistik Music, (3) Parade of Indonesian traditional clothes.
 
"The participation of the Department of Management students of IPB in the international forum is an opportunity for Indonesian students to have international exposure and build confidence in interacting with the international community; it is helpful for students to improve their soft skills", says Mukhamad Najib. According to him, who is also chairman of the Department of Management, "Next year we will face the ASEAN Economy Community, in which the mobility of people and competition will increase. We must prepare our graduates to compete with graduates from neighboring countries. Therefore, this kind of event is very good to give insight and at the same time training in interacting with people from different countries.” 
 
Apart from being the Indonesian delegation in the Malaysia International Youth Exchange, the students involving 83 people, accompanied by 9 lecturers, also conducted academic visits to universities and companies operating in Singapore, such as the Nanyang Technological University and AkzoNobel. AkzoNobel is selected for the visit to learn about the Green Supply Chain Management that has been implemented by the largest paint company in the world. While in Malaysia, they also visited the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), PT. MSIG Malaysia , Malaysian Institute of Standards and Multi Media University .
 
According to Najib, for the Department of Management, the visit to these places can, beside being beneficial to add the students knowledge and experience, develop inter-agency cooperation. When asked about the results of the visit in Singapore and Malaysia, Najib replied, " with the Nanyang Technological University, understanding and commitment has been established to develop joint research on the Food Consumer and Marketing, while at Multi Media University there is an opportunity to do a Student Exchange, Joint Research and sabatical Leave for lecturers in the Department of Management . So opportunities are very open, it is left to us just how we follow it up". (Mtd )
