Students of SDIT YPIDH Bekasi Made Horta Dolls in IPB

Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu / Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) under Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Darul Hikmah / Islamic Education Foundation of Darul Hikmah (YPIDH), Bekasi made a visit to Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This visit was the first time done by SD YPIDH to the Campus of IPB Dramaga. As much as 150 children participated in this event, accompanied by teachers and teaching staff of SDIT YPIDH. They are welcomed by the team of Agro-edutourism of IPB.

 

This activity presented the Horta Doll Team. Horta Doll was a planting medium of sawdust, packaged in the form of doll and grew grass from its body.  Variegated and appearance of dolls could be made. This doll was one of the innovation work of the alumnus of IPB. 

 

In this visit, every child got the opportunity to make his or her own Horta Doll. The result was, such diverse dolls were created like turtles, humans, bears,  superheroes and penguins. The dolls that had finished could be brought home by students of SDIT YPIDH Bekasi. According to the theme and the motto of this event, ‘Kembali ke Alam Bersama Boneka Horta / Back to Nature with Horta Doll,’ it was expected that all students of SDIT YPIDH had high awareness on the need to love the environment and to know the wonderful things that the nature could give us.
