Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Business Meeting at the Agrinex Expo 2013

Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia organized Business Meeting in Jakarta Convention Center, on 5 April 2013. This event was part of a series of Agrinex Expo 2013 of IPB which is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Performax.

 

This Ministry of Tourism’ Business Meeting was attended by the Ministry by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. and about 28 businessmen and entrepreneurs on horticulture and tourism. Twenty four (24) of them were merchants of horticultural products and 4 were customers of hoteliers such as Bumi Wiyata Hotel, Kartika Chandra Hotel, PT Sofyan Hotel, and Amos Cozy Hotel.The objectives of the business meeting was to promote the tourism of Indonesia, specifically the agrotourism. 

 

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Agrinex Expo, Rifda Ammarina stated that such forum is really important for the development of their respective businesses. For example, through that meeting where both merchants of local  fruit and vegetable met together with customers of those commodities who represent some hotels, they would be able to establish network to share important information required for their businesses. 

 

With regard to the development of the Indonesian horticulture, it can be practised  anywhere as they don’t need a large area, it might be practised probably in the back yard of the house, in the hall, even at the top of the building. "Depending on the available market in Indonesia," Rifda Ammarina said. Thus, this business meeting would be expected to be the important forum for business partnership for those related business actors.  The event was hosted by Indra Sakti of the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Board which is a partner of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia.
