IPB University Celebrates Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day with a Spirit of Science, Achievement, and Togetherness
IPB University commemorated the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia with a ceremony that reaffirmed the spirit of independence through the promotion of science, technology, achievement, and the contributions of the academic community.
The ceremony was held on Monday (8/17) at the Rectorate Field on the IPB Dramaga Campus and was attended by members of the IPB University community from various sectors.
The ceremony was attended by the leadership of IPB University’s governing bodies, namely the Board of Trustees, the Academic Senate, the Council of Professors, the Rector and Vice Rectors, as well as the leadership of various administrative units. Faculty members, staff, students, and Agrianita also participated in the commemorative events with solemnity.
Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet read a speech from the Indonesian Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto. He urged the entire IPB University community to use the momentum of Independence Day as an impetus to continue contributing to the nation’s progress through science and technology.
“Let us rise up to build a progressive Indonesia through science and technology. Happy 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
Presentation of the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award
This spirit was also reflected in the recognition of the dedication of the IPB University community. A total of 19 faculty members and educational staff received the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award for 10, 20, and 30 years of service.
The awards were presented as a token of appreciation for their dedication and contributions in supporting the advancement of education and research at IPB University.
In addition to the awards for faculty and staff, IPB University also recognized 15 student achievements. These accomplishments are part of the student’s contribution to bringing honor to the institution while demonstrating that the spirit of independence can be realized through achievements and works.
The series of events then continued with the opening of the 63rd IPB University Anniversary Tournament. The tournament included mini-soccer, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and Mobile Legends. The festive celebrations also featured various August 17th themed competitions, such as the bakiak race, sack race, spoon and marble race, bottle and nail race, and tug of war.
Through this series of activities, the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IPB University served not only as a moment to reflect on independence but also as an opportunity to strengthen unity, sportsmanship, appreciation, and the spirit of creativity.
