IPB University has successfully secured the 62nd position globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 ranking. This position increases from the previous year (101–200th).

Published on Wednesday (6/24), the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 ranking evaluates 1.646 universities from 116 countries and regions. The evaluation includes 17 individual SDG tables as well as one overall ranking.

This achievement reaffirms IPB University’s position as one of the most progressive higher education institutions in supporting sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs) in Indonesia.

The excellent performance of IPB University is particularly prominent in three main indicators, namely SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) with a score of 93,3; SDG 1 (No Poverty) with a score of 87,5; and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) with a score of 84,5.

Rector of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, stated that this success is the fruit of collective work from the entire academic community together with partners. According to him, the achievement of SDGs becomes the strategic direction of the campus to provide real science-based solutions to society.

“IPB is committed to making research and innovation the driver of transformation towards food security, environmental sustainability, and community welfare,” said Alim.

He added that cross sector synergy, starting from the government, industry, local communities, to international networks, becomes the main key in expanding the impact of the implemented SDGs programs. With this achievement, IPB University continues to strengthen its role as an innovative higher education institution that actively drives sustainable social and economic transformation.

On its official page, The Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings (formerly THE Impact Rankings) is the only global ranking that measures how institutions around the world advance sustainability aligned with the United Nations (UN) SDGs. (dh) (IAAS/HNF)
