Teajae, a Modern Herbal Drink by IPB University Students, A Hassle Free Health Solution
As awareness of healthy lifestyles grows, a group of IPB University students participating in the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) has introduced an innovative herbal drink called Teajae. This product is specifically designed to modernize the image of traditional herbal medicine, making it more relevant and practical for the younger generation.
“The inspiration behind Teajae stemmed from our concern over young people’s low interest in traditional herbal remedies, which are often seen as a hassle because they require boiling at home. We wanted to create a more modern, tasty, and easy to consume version without compromising its benefits,” said TeaJae’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Abdan Taris Hariri.
Abdan explained that Teajae is a healthy beverage that combines the benefits of natural herbs with a modern taste. This drink helps boost the immune system, supports digestive health, and provides a relaxing effect.
Initially, Teajae was planned as a tea bag product. However, as the project evolved, the team shifted its focus to a 250 ml ready to drink bottle to facilitate distribution and product introduction.
Currently, Teajae has launched two main flavor variants: turmeric and tamarind, and blue pea and lemongrass. With a blend of high quality turmeric and tamarind, the turmeric and tamarind variant helps boost the immune system and maintain digestive health. Meanwhile, the blue pea and lemongrass variant, rich in antioxidants, can soothe the body and promote natural relaxation.
“The ginger variant will be available soon. This drink is perfect for boosting immunity, refreshing the body, and accompanying daily activities,” said Abdan.
Teajae targets college students as their primary market, given their typically busy academic schedules. However, Teajae is also available to the general public, particularly those aged 18 to 30.
“With an affordable price of Rp10.000 per bottle, this product is expected to become the top choice for those who want to live a healthy lifestyle without a complicated process,” said Abdan, who is currently a Computer Science student at IPB University.
The team behind Teajae consists of interdisciplinary students from IPB University’s Class of 2020, namely Abdan Taris Hariri as CEO, Shofwah Salma Syahidah as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Alma Subaila Salam as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Haiqal Aryovito Almadianto, assisted by Gita Amanda, as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Teajae uses the PMW as a platform for focused business learning. Through mentoring from experts and successful entrepreneurs, the Teajae team feels equipped with a realistic perspective on the world of entrepreneurship. Starting a business while still a student serves as crucial preparation for life after college. (MHT)(IAAS/LAN)
