IPB University Rector Visits Innovation KKN Students, Brings IPB 9G Rice Seeds for 12 Villages in Pekalongan Regency
IPB University Rector, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, brought IPB 9G rice seeds to be distributed to 12 villages in Pekalongan Regency during his supervision visit to the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T Innovation) program in Pringsurat Village on Sunday (7/19).
The supervision visit was conducted as part of efforts to strengthen synergy among universities, local governments, and communities in promoting innovation based rural development.
During the visit, the Rector encouraged KKNT students to view community service activities as both a learning opportunity and a means of creating tangible impacts for local communities.
“KKNT students are expected to become agents of change who prioritize innovation, collaboration, and community assistance. Their presence should generate sustainable benefits while reinforcing the role of higher education institutions in rural development,” said Dr Alim.
Pringsurat Village Chief, Casmadi, welcomed the Rector’s visit and expressed his appreciation for the presence of IPB University students in the village. According to him, the Innovation KKNT program serves as a collaborative platform that benefits local communities through various empowerment initiatives aligned with the village’s potential.
“We warmly welcome the presence of IPB University’s KKNT students. We hope that the programs they carry out will provide meaningful benefits for the community and support the development of Pringsurat Village’s potential,” said Casmadi.
Meanwhile, Dwi Herosakti Satriyo, SSTP, MM, Chairman of the Regional Research and Innovation Division (Risetda) at the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) of Pekalongan Regency, emphasized the importance of collaboration between local governments and universities in delivering innovations to address regional development challenges.
“We hope that this partnership will not end with this year’s KKNT program, but will continue in the years to come. Through sustained collaboration, innovations and community assistance programs can continue to grow and contribute significantly to the development of Pekalongan Regency,” he stated.
