The Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family of IPB University (KMNU IPB) together with PT CNGR Indonesia carried out a tree seedling planting activity on the grounds of IPB Ma’had Jawi Student Dormitory, Dramaga, Bogor (6/14).

This tree seedling planting activity serves as one form of real action by IPB University students in building awareness toward the environment. Through this activity, students were not only invited to understand the importance of preserving nature, but also directly involved in greening practices in the environment where they live and carry out their activities.

The administrator of IPB Ma’had Jawi Student Dormitory as well as a Master’s student in Forest Management Science at IPB University, Tsanie Ditya Kurnia, stated that tree planting is a simple step that carries great meaning in environmental education for students.

“We want to instill in students that caring for the environment is not merely limited to campaigns or calls to action, but can be done concretely, starting from one’s own surroundings,” said Tsanie.

According to him, this activity also serves as part of the character building learning process for the student residents of IPB Ma’had Jawi Student Dormitory. “After being planted, these trees must be cared for. It is through this process of care that students learn about discipline, division of tasks, teamwork, and responsibility for what has been started,” he added.

A representative of PT CNGR Indonesia, Fajar Surya Pratomo, assessed that students have an important role in building environmental awareness and encouraging the emergence of impactful collaborations.

“This activity is not only about planting trees. More than that, this activity becomes a space for strengthening relationships, sharing experiences, and building connections with students. We hope that collaborations like this can continue and bring benefits to both the environment and student development,” said Fajar.

The Chairman of KMNU IPB, Qaf Firos Muhammad, also expressed appreciation for the holding of the activity. He mentioned that this tree planting serves as one form of student contribution in presenting positive activities that are beneficial to the environment.

“We extend our gratitude to PT CNGR Indonesia and IPB Ma’had Jawi Student Dormitory for this collaboration. May this activity become a small effort that brings benefits to the environment and become part of the spirit of IPB University students in caring for the earth,” he said.

Through this activity, IPB University students together with PT CNGR Indonesia hope that the movement of environmental awareness can continue to grow from the spaces closest to students. The tree seedling planting at IPB Ma’had Jawi Student Dormitory serves as a symbol that caring for the environment can begin from simple steps, carried out together, and maintained in a sustainable manner.
