IPB University, through its Quality Management Office, held a Workshop on the Preparation of Accreditation Documents. Held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC) on Monday (5/4), the event involved all deans and chairs of study programs at IPB University.

The Rector of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan, expressed his appreciation for the early initiative to prepare accreditation documents. He emphasized that the accreditation process is not merely a matter of fulfilling administrative requirements, but rather part of the institution’s transformation to improve the quality and relevance of education.

“Accreditation is not just about the instruments, but how we carry out transformation to meet the needs of the times. Quality is a critical issue directly linked to the institution’s reputation,” he stated.

He explained that IPB University’s accreditation will expire on November 8, 2027, so the documents must be submitted at least six months in advance. According to him, early preparation allows the institution time to make comprehensive improvements.

In addition, he continued, IPB University is also promoting a shift toward interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration to address the complexity of future challenges. “There is no longer a monodisciplinary approach. We must move toward scientific integration,” he said.

The Chairman of the IPB University Quality Management Office, Dr I Wayan Nurjaya, explained that this workshop serves as a kickoff meeting for the team drafting the institutional accreditation documents, while also aligning perspectives regarding the latest guidelines and criteria from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) through the AIPT 4.1 instrument.

“We are drafting the document based on the performance of all units. Therefore, it is important to align perspectives and ensure cross unit coordination,” he said.

In his presentation, it was noted that the latest accreditation instrument includes 39 indicators, totaling 65 indicators and sub-indicators. There are eight essential requirements to achieve the “excellent” rating, along with 57 other requirements that must be met.

According to BAN-PT Regulation No 35 of 2025, a higher education institution is deemed accredited if it meets all necessary requirements with a minimum score of 200. To achieve the excellent rating, however, the fulfillment of indicators must reflect the institution’s outstanding performance.

IPB University itself has met a number of key indicators. As of January 2026, the percentage of tenured faculty members holding doctoral degrees reached 68,3 percent, exceeding the minimum requirement of 40 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of faculty members holding the ranks of full professor and associate professor reached 47 percent, above the minimum requirement of 30 percent.

Additionally, IPB University currently has 27 study programs with international accreditation. However, there are still a number of study programs facing challenges, including a shortage of faculty members.

This workshop also featured a guest speaker from BAN-PT, Prof Adang Suhendra, who presented on the AIPT 4.1 accreditation instrument and strategies for achieving an “excellent” rating, moderated by the Chairman of the Accreditation and Certification Division at IPB University’s Quality Management Office, Prof Mochammad Riyanto.
