In 2026, IPB University’s CEO School Equips Startups with Leadership, Sociopreneurship, and High Performance Team Skills
aspiring business leaders and startups by holding the inaugural CEO School session on Sunday (5/10).
The event focused on two main themes, namely Leadership in Sociopreneurship and Building High-Performance Teams: A CEO’s Guide, aimed at building leadership capacity, fostering an innovative mindset, and developing the ability to build adaptive teams amidst the ever evolving challenges of the business world.
The event was opened by Dr M Iqbal Irfany, who emphasized the importance of strengthening leadership character for startup founders and young entrepreneurs.
During the event, participants not only received theoretical material but were also guided to understand the real challenges in building sustainable and socially impactful businesses.
In the first session, Viviana Dyah Ayu Retno Kumalasari, Vice President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), presented material highlighting the role of sociopreneurs in creating solutions to social and economic issues facing communities.
Sociopreneurs are seen as playing a strategic role in improving the welfare of farmers and fishermen, expanding market access, and even transforming waste into economically valuable products.
Additionally, participants were provided with insights into the importance of building a business ecosystem through collaboration, access to technology, funding, mentorship, and strong networks.
Meanwhile, in the second session, Anton Sukarna of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) presented the session Building High-Performance Teams: A CEO’s Guide, which focused on strategies for building high performing teams through communication, collaboration, and a healthy work culture. He explained that many organizations fail to grow not due to a lack of individual competence, but because of weak coordination, motivation, and synergy among team members.
In his presentation, Anton introduced the leadership concept of “Nata, Nuntun, and Nagih” as the foundation for building an effective organization. “Nata” refers to a leader’s ability to set strategic direction and work priorities.
“Nuntun relates to guiding and empowering the team, while nagih emphasizes the importance of consistently evaluating performance and achieving targets,” he said.
During the discussion session, various issues were addressed, ranging from digital transformation in the agricultural sector to the importance of communication skills and the courage to take responsibility as a leader.
This material underscores that future leaders must not only be profit oriented but also prioritize the aspects of people, planet, and sustainability. This initiative is part of IPB University’s efforts to cultivate a generation of entrepreneurs and startup leaders ready to tackle business challenges in the era of digital transformation and a sustainable economy.
