IPB University Karate Club Wins 28 Medals at the 2026 Kasal Cup V Karate Tournament
IPB University students have once again achieved outstanding success in sports. The Karate Student Activity Unit (UKM) won 28 medals at the 2026 Kasal Cup V Karate tournament held at the Ciracas Sports Hall (GOR) in East Jakarta (4/4–5).
Out of the 21 athletes competing, the IPB University delegation brought home 7 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. The national championship was attended by 1.001 participants from various regions across Indonesia.
“Our highest appreciation goes to the Karate Student Activity Unit for its consistent achievements on the national stage. IPB University is fully committed to continuing to facilitate and encourage the development of students’ talents and interests to achieve broader achievements, both at the national and international levels,” said Dr Akhmad Arifin Hadi, Director of Student Affairs at IPB University.
The Chair of the IPB University Karate Club, Dede Yadi Herdiansah, expressed gratitude for the university’s support in nurturing student athletes. “Thank you to all our supporters, as well as our coaches and IPB University for always supporting us.
The guidance provided by IPB Lucky Sport as a consultation platform has had a very positive impact on the athletes. He hopes this support will continue because it greatly helps students balance their academic activities and training.

The Supervisor of Student Sports and Arts Development, Abdul Qodir, SSos, MM, stated, “We are very proud of IPB students who excel and contribute at the national level. We designed the IPB Lucky Sport program as a form of support and consultation for sports activities.”
This national championship was attended by the best karateka from various institutions and universities across Indonesia. The event was fully supported by various national sports authorities, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation (FORKI), and the Indonesian Karate-Do Institute (INKAI).
The 5th Kasal Cup was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Navy Military Police Center (POMAL). In addition to serving as a competitive event, the competition provided a platform to strengthen bonds among athletes and promote sportsmanship under the banner of military sportsmanship and nationalism.
