IPB University Introduces ArMuse-C Program, Invites Schools Across Jabodetabek to Explore Campus History
IPB University continues to innovate in bringing the campus’s historical heritage closer to the younger generation. Through the Information Management and Digital Transformation Institute (LMITD), the Digital Archives and Museum Management Division held a socialization event for the Archive and Museum for Community (ArMuse-C) program, aimed at schools across the Jabodetabek area on Thursday (4/9).
ArMuse-C is a program designed to explore the rich collections of IPB’s Archives and Museum as an inspiring learning instrument for students.
The event was opened with a warm welcome by Dr Adisti PP Hartoyo, Assistant for Digital Archives and Museum Management. She conveyed that the Archives and Museum are not merely a storage place for old documents, but rather the heart of information preserving the reflective values of IPB University’s historical development.
“IPB opens up collaboration opportunities with schools so that they can get acquainted with archives that have been processed and made accessible to the public. The exhibited objects in the museum can also be utilized as tangible learning media,” she said.
In her material presentation, Dr Adisti explained that ArMuse-C aims to invite students to explore IPB University’s history through collections of historical objects as an educational destination. In addition to physical visits, the program also offers specialized education tailored to schools’ needs, such as short training sessions with measurable learning outcomes.
Beyond serving as a medium for historical reflection, the program is also positioned as an initial step for senior high school students to become familiar with the academic atmosphere at IPB University. By understanding the history and contributions of the campus, students are expected to develop greater mental readiness and broader insight before entering higher education.
Following the technical presentation of the ArMuse-C program, the discussion session became the most engaging part of the agenda. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident from the large number of questions raised. School principals and teacher representatives appeared highly interested in the way IPB University packages digital archives and museum content into interactive and easily accessible formats.
Through the success of this socialization event, IPB University hopes that the ArMuse-C program can serve as a platform for students not only to compete, but also to appreciate the intellectual values contained within every page of archival records and museum artifacts. (*/Rz)(IAAS/PRO)
