Studying with a sense of happiness is a dream for many students. It is not merely about graduating on time, but also about growing, discovering one’s potential, and feeling supported throughout the journey. Three students of IPB University shared their experiences during their academic years.

For Sarah Alia Rubi, a student of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, one word captures her experience at IPB University: “colorful.” She has encountered numerous new experiences and discovered aspects of herself that she had not previously realized.

“Studying at IPB University is not just about learning in the classroom, but also about engaging in nonacademic activities that enrich personal development,” she said.

Rubi added that happiness comes when she is engaged in meaningful activities, as these allow her to find her essence and appreciate every progress in life.

Therefore, each level of study has a different purpose. The first level is introductory, the second and third levels are exploratory, and the fourth level is career preparation. All of these activities make him feel grateful to be at IPB University.

“One of the things that makes me happy studying at IPB University is the abundance of opportunities to explore various experiences,” she stated.

A similar perspective was expressed by Sofia Lorena, a student of the School of Data Science, Mathematics, and Informatics. She likened her academic journey to planting and nurturing a tree. “Nothing grows tall overnight, everything begins from a small seed,” she explained.

According to her, academic activities such as lectures, practicums, and discussions serve as strong roots, shaping critical thinking, discipline, and responsibility.

“Meanwhile, nonacademic activities are like the trunk and branches that allow us to grow in different directions,” Sofia said. A supportive campus environment, from lecturers to peers, plays a crucial role in this process.

She acknowledged that challenges are inevitable. However, IPB University provides space for continuous growth, enabling her to become more mature and confident.

Meanwhile, Keizha Adiwangga described IPB University as a critical and fair living environment. He emphasized that every step carries consequences, both academic and nonacademic, shaping him into a responsible and consistent individual.

He affirmed that IPB University consistently provides an inclusive and diverse space for growth. In his view, every idea and inspiration is valued with integrity as its foundation.

“If the ultimate goal of pursuing knowledge is wisdom, then IPB truly creates an ecosystem oriented toward striving for excellence,” said the student of the Faculty of Economics and Management. (dr) (IAAS/CAA)
