The warm atmosphere of Ramadan was felt when 200 student organization leaders broke their fast together with the Rector and IPB University leaders. This meeting was not only a moment of friendship, but also a forum for reflection on student leadership.

In his speech, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs Prof Deni Noviana emphasized that the student organization leaders are the next generation who will carry on the noble values of leadership.

“For IPB University, student organizations play a strategic role in building a positive campus culture,” he said.

He also emphasized the important values that a student leader must have, namely devotion to God Almighty, integrity, collaboration, and the ability to be a driving force for the benefit of the campus, organization, and country.

“IPB University students are not only required to be intellectually smart, but also to have noble character and ethics in their actions,” added Prof Deni.

Meanwhile, Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet expressed his pride in the student activists who have enlivened the campus through various activities, ranging from sports, arts, to scientific discussions. He emphasized that many great figures were born from campus organizations.

The Rector also reminded the importance of maintaining the dignity of the campus and creating a safe and integrity-filled environment. On that occasion, Dr Alim also emphasized IPB University’s commitment to taking firm action against various violations, including allegations of sexual violence, through the available official reporting mechanisms.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Al-Hurriyyah Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM), Prof Abdul Munif, reflected on the meaning of Ramadan fasting. He explained that fasting contains four main values, namely normative (obedience to obligations), purificative (cleansing of the soul and increasing piety), preventive (training patience as a shield for oneself), and preservative (maintaining health).

This moment provided a space for IPB University students and leaders to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration. It is hoped that the atmosphere of togetherness during Ramadan will strengthen collaboration between student organizations, foster a spirit of service, and bring about a real impact on society and the nation.
