IPB University continues to strengthen its strategic role in supporting the national agricultural and fisheries sectors. One such effort is through the “IPB Digitani” Farmers and Fishermen Online Service program.

This platform serves as a digital innovation providing solutions for consultation, mentoring, and access to technological and market information for farmers, ranchers, and fishermen across various regions.

There are 93 IPB University experts incorporated into the Board of Experts. The presence of these experts allows users to obtain scientific and solution oriented answers to various issues in the fields of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and animal health.

As of 2025, beneficiaries are spread across 34 provinces, 367 regencies/cities, and 3.883 villages throughout Indonesia. Thousands of articles and hundreds of consultation services have been utilized by more than 15.000 users.

Through features such as ask the expert, consultations, popular articles, and farmers’ forums, this platform has become a space for two-way interaction between academics and the community. IPB University utilizes digital technology to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and innovation from the campus to the primary stakeholders of the food and fisheries sectors.

“Digital transformation in the agricultural sector is an inevitability. The presence of this platform is expected to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of farmers and fishermen through fast, accurate, and reliable access to information,” said the Chairman of the Institute for Agromaritime Development and Innopreneurship Acceleration at IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa.

With a continuously expanding reach and support from multidisciplinary experts, the ‘IPB Digitani’ Farmers and Fishermen Online Service stands as a concrete manifestation of IPB University’s commitment to building an innovation-based, inclusive, and sustainable agricultural and fisheries ecosystem.
