Without a Doubt, These Are the Reasons Why Three Students Chose IPB University as Their Dream Campus
Choosing a university is not a simple decision. For Keizha Adiwangga, an alumnus of SMAN 7 Kota Tangerang, the reputation of the campus was the main factor that led him to choose IPB University as the place to continue his studies.
Keizha believes that IPB University has a strong image as a leading university in Indonesia, both in terms of academics and student development.
“IPB is a university with an excellent reputation. My parents and I had no hesitation in choosing IPB,” said Keizha, who is now a student at the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) at IPB University.
Keizha was accepted through the Student Council President Pathway, a selection process that he considers unique and visionary because it provides space for students’ leadership potential. “IPB believes that young leadership talent is also important, not just academic grades. IPB is even a pioneer of the Student Council President Pathway, which is not yet widely available at other universities,” he said.
Keizha’s confidence in IPB grew stronger after participating in the IPB OSIS Fest 2022, a talent scouting event that brought him into direct contact with IPB University leaders.
“I was able to discuss directly with the then Rector of IPB, Prof Arif Satria, as well as the deans. From there, I saw IPB as an inclusive, critical, and visionary campus,” he remarked.
Keizha’s decision also received full support from her family, teachers, and alumni who had previously studied at IPB University. According to him, the openness of information at IPB University makes it easier for prospective students to understand the advantages of the campus.
“I hope that after graduating, I can immediately start a career in my field. IPB is an important stepping stone towards that,” he said confidently.
A similar view was expressed by M Syahrul Rizki, a student of the Silviculture Study Program, Faculty of Forestry and Environment. According to him, IPB University not only educates students academically, but also values non-academic ideas and talents.
“IPB believes that every student’s ideas and talents are valuable assets, which are built with integrity,” said that graduate of MAN 1 Cianjur.
Currently, during his studies, Syahrul actively develops himself through various non-academic activities. He has served as Chairman of the Forestry Student Association (Tree Grower Community) and also as Chair of the IPB Cianjur Student Organization (OMICI) and IPB Ambassador, experiences he believes will be important preparation for the future.
Meanwhile, Sarah Alia Rubi, a student at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), believes that IPB University excels in developing individual talent from freshman year through to post-graduation.
As an alumnus of SMAN 86 Jakarta, Sarah believes that “IPB gives us many opportunities to learn outside the classroom, build a track record, and prepare for our careers, such as TOEFL/IELTS classes and certification.”
All three agree that IPB University is not only academically outstanding but also provides ample space for students to grow, adapt, and prepare for the real world. (AS) (IAAS/KQA)
