New Student Admissions IPB University 2026
IPB University is once again opening the selection process for new students for the 63rd batch for the 2026–2027 academic year. This selection is intended for prospective students of Bachelor’s (S1) and Applied Bachelor’s (D4) programs through various admission channels.
The Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs at IPB University, Prof Dr Deni Noviana, said, “IPB University is opening opportunities for the nation’s best sons and daughters to join as new students in 2026 through various selection channels.”
Director of Education Administration and New Student Admissions at IPB University, Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri, explained that the available admission pathways include the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), the IPB Independent Selection (SM-IPB), the Talent Pathway, the Student Council President Pathway, the Partner Cooperation Pathway (Regional Representative Scholarship/BUD), and the International Class Pathway.
For the national pathway, IPB University accepts students through SNBP and SNBT, as well as the Higher Education Affirmative Scholarship Program (ADik).
“In terms of quotas, IPB University has set approximately 40 per cent for SNBT and 30 per cent for SNBP. The remaining 30 per cent is for the independent pathway,’ said Dr Utami. ‘Specifically for the Faculty of Medicine, the SNBP quota is only 20 per cent, SNBT is 30 per cent, and the independent pathway is 50 per cent,” she added.

SNBP Pathway
Regarding the SNBP Pathway, Dr. Utami mentioned important things that SNBP-eligible students need to consider:
First, when choosing a study program (prodi), make sure participants consider their report card grades. “Pay attention to the supporting subjects required in each study program. Some require one subject, while others require two. Supporting subjects are one of the assessment components, so please pay attention to this,” she explained.
Second, pay attention to the quota and competitiveness of each study program. For a complete list, please click admisi.ipb.ac.id.
Third, certificates of academic and talent achievements are other supporting data required in the selection process.
Fourth, once you have been accepted through the SNBP pathway, you must choose that program because you can no longer participate in the SNBT pathway or other independent pathways at any state university (PTN).
TKA is Only an Administrative Requirement, Not a Determinant of Graduation
The opportunity to become an IPB University student is just around the corner, one of which is through the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), for which registration has just opened on 2/3.
So far, there are still many questions regarding the role of the Academic Ability Test (TKA) in the graduation assessment. Addressing these concerns, IPB University has determined that the TKA results will not be a determining factor for graduation in the 2026 SNBP. The TKA score is only positioned as an administrative requirement for registration.
“TKA results are not a determining factor for graduation at IPB. The main assessment still refers to report card scores and relevant achievements, while TKA is used as a registration requirement in accordance with the provisions of the SNPMB central committee,” said IPB University Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana.
He said that this policy is in line with the provisions of the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB). The SNBP pathway, he said, continues to focus on students’ academic achievements during their schooling.
Nationally, the 2026 SNBP regulations place TKA as an administrative registration requirement. Participants’ acceptance is still determined by main components, such as report card grades, academic and non-academic achievements, and portfolios for certain study
“IPB does not set a minimum TKA score for the 2026 SNBP selection. TKA is used in accordance with the central committee’s provisions as a registration requirement. Based on the available data, an analysis will be carried out to obtain comprehensive information. In the selection process, we will continue to adhere to the principle of merit-based selection, which is the main characteristic of SNBP,” he explained.
Prof Deni emphasized that IPB University is committed to conducting the new student admission selection process objectively, transparently, and accountably.
For prospective SNBP participants, he urged them to fully understand this policy and remain focused on maintaining consistent academic performance as preparation for continuing their education at IPB University.

SNBT Pathway
SNBT is a national selection process that uses a Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK). This test aims to measure the abilities of prospective students, and the results form the basis for assessment in the SNBT selection process. Participation in the UTBK is a key requirement for entering the SNBT pathway at state universities (PTN) and is also a requirement for entering the independent pathway at several PTNs.
For students who choose IPB as their choice in SNBT, there are 46 undergraduate (S1) study programs and 17 applied undergraduate (D4) study programs to choose from. Students from all over Indonesia can choose IPB as their study program choice in SNBT by taking the UTBK at the UTBK Centre closest to their domicile.
IPB University will once again be one of the centres for the 2026 UTBK-SNBT. The UTBK at the IPB University UTBK Centre will be held at two locations, namely the IPB Dramaga Campus in Bogor Regency and the IPB Cilibende Campus in Bogor City.
Registration for the UTBK-SNBT will begin on 25 March until 7 April 2026. The implementation will take place from 21 April to 30 April 2026. Complete information can be accessed at snpmb.id or admisi.ipb.ac.id.
The enthusiasm of UTBK participants in 2025 at the IPB campus was very high. A total of 17.969 participants took part in the UTBK-SNBT, choosing the IPB University campus as their location in 2025.
IPB University provides excellent services and creative programs to ensure the comfort of UTBK-SNBT participants and their families who accompany them to the exam location at the IPB campus, ranging from well-equipped computer laboratories to a pleasant campus atmosphere with plenty of green open spaces, beautiful and lush campus gardens, campus buses, canteens, places of worship, merchandise shops, as well as friendly and helpful staff. Creative programs include: campus tours, visits to the IPB museum, IPB Mascots Vidi – Vidia Greetings, and Surprise Quizzes with Prizes for UTBK participants and accompanying family members.
Not only that, IPB University also prepared a strong support team consisting of IT personnel, health workers, water and electricity technicians, and security personnel. Ensuring the quality of the UTBK-SNBT administration is also a serious concern for IPB University.
“For high school students in the Jabodetabek and Sukabumi areas, we are waiting for the future warriors to register for the UTBK and choose the IPB University campus as their exam location,” said Dr Utami.

Regional Representative Scholarship (BUD) Pathway
This program is one of the cooperation schemes between IPB University and the central government, local governments, state-owned enterprises, companies, and private institutions to produce excellent human resources who are expected to contribute to regional and national development.
“The BUD program not only provides access to higher education but also becomes an investment in regional development through strengthening human resource capacity,” explained Prof Deni Noviana.
Dr Utami added, “BUD is an independent pathway where prospective participants must be a maximum of 25 years old, have a minimum report card score of 70,00 for the first five semesters, and be in good physical and mental health and free from drugs. Participants are also required to be willing to live in the IPB University General Competency Preparation Education (PPKU) dormitory during their first year of study.”
Unlike other pathways, BUD registration is conducted institutionally, meaning it is done through recommendations and funding from the proposing institution, not individually. The registration process is open from 10 March to 5 June 2026 and is conducted online via the website bud.admisi.ipb.ac.id.
