IPB University Rector Inaugurates 200 Student Organization Leaders, Challenges Students to Utilize Green Fund for Impactful Programs
IPB University officially inaugurated 200 student organization leaders on Monday (2/9) at the Andi Hakim Nasution Auditorium.
On that occasion, IPB University Rector, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, challenged students to develop sustainability based programs through the Green Fund scheme. The requirement is that student organization activities must have a direct impact on the environment.
“We encourage the Green Fund for student organizations that have activities with a real impact on the environment. This is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their strategic role in sustainability issues,” he said.
Therefore, the Rector expressed his hope that IPB University student organizations would be able to expand the scope of their activities and not only focus on the internal campus environment.
“I hope that IPB University student organizations can raise global issues and make real contributions, not only at the IPB University level, but also in the wider community,” said Dr Alim.
He also emphasized IPB University’s commitment to supporting the strengthening of student activities through the provision and improvement of supporting facilities.
“IPB University will continue to support and add facilities that can support student activities so that student organizations can operate more optimally,” he added.
Previously, the Director of Student Affairs at IPB University, Dr Beginer Subhan, delivered the accountability report (LPJ) as an evaluation of the implementation of the previous period’s student organization program. He also emphasized the importance of improving the quality of student activities so that they have a greater impact and are more globally oriented.
“This 2025 Ormawa LPJ serves as a collective reflection so that future student activities can be improved in quality, not merely repetitive, but capable of being directed toward activities that are more impactful and internationally oriented,” said Dr Beginer.
The Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, also emphasized the role of student organizations as a space for leadership learning, character development, and the tangible contribution of students to the institution and society.
The highlight of the event was the recitation of the student organization chairperson’s pledge, led directly by the Rector. This was followed by the symbolic pinning of pins to representatives of the student organization chairpersons as an official sign of the inauguration of the IPB University student organization for the 2026 period.
