IPB University Opens Various Admission Pathways for New Students in 2026, Here is the Complete Information
IPB University is once again opening various admission pathways for new students in 2026, both through national and independent pathways. This information was conveyed by the Director of Education Administration and New Student Admissions at IPB University, Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri, in an official presentation regarding this year’s student selection system and admission timeline.
Admission Quota
For the national pathway, IPB University accepts students through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), as well as the government’s affirmative action pathway through the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) for College.
“In terms of quotas, IPB University has set around 40 percent for SNBT and 30 percent for SNBP. The remaining 30 percent is for independent admission,” said Dr Utami.
“Specifically for the Faculty of Medicine, the SNBP quota is only 20 percent, and independent admission reaches 50 percent,” she added.
Study Programs and SNBT Pathway
In 2026, IPB University will offer 63 study programs, consisting of 46 undergraduate programs and 17 applied undergraduate programs (D4) at the Vocational School. Three new study programs will also be offered, namely Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Plant Breeding and Seed Technology (D4).
SNBT selection is based on Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) scores, without a passing grade system. “The limiting factor for admission is the capacity of each study program,” said Dr Utami.
Independent Pathways, International Classes, and Scholarships
IPB University also offers various independent pathways, including the Student Council President Pathway, Talent Pathway, Independent Selection for Admission to IPB (SM-IPB), and partner cooperation pathways (Regional Representative Scholarships/BUD). In addition, there are 13 international class study programs offered in two selection rounds.
In terms of financing, students are charged a single tuition fee (UKT) according to their economic capacity. Specifically for independent pathways, there is an Institutional and Facility Development Fee (BPIF).
For educational assistance, IPB University provides various scholarships. These include KIP Kuliah for students in the SNBP and SNBT pathways, as well as other scholarships such as the IPB Alumni Care Foundation (YAPI) scholarship.
“All official and detailed information regarding admission pathways, capacity, and program competitiveness can be accessed at admisi.ipb.ac.id,” concluded Dr Utami. (AS) (IAAS/EPK)
