Interested in Establishing Cooperation, Mpok Sylvi Names IPB University as the Mother of Innovation in Indonesia

The STIAMI Institute of Social Sciences and Management and IPB University officially established cooperation through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The signing was conducted by STIAMI Rector Prof Sylviana Murni and IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet at the Andi Hakim Nasution Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, on Tuesday (1/14). Prof Sylviana Murni is a Betawi woman known by the nickname “Mpok Sylvi.” 

This cooperation covers the fields of education, research, and community service as part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources (HR) and strengthen the synergy between the two universities.

In her speech, STIAMI Rector Prof Sylviana Murni expressed her gratitude for the collaboration with IPB University. According to her, this collaboration is an opportunity for STIAMI to learn and study from IPB University, which is known as the university that produces the most innovations in Indonesia.

“IPB University is the mother of innovation in Indonesia. Despite its many achievements, IPB remains down to earth and willing to share. The signing of this MoU is an important moment as the beginning of cooperation in education, human resource development, research, and community service,” she said.

Meanwhile, IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet welcomed the signing of the memorandum of understanding. He considered this cooperation an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between the two higher education institutions.

“The scope of the agreed cooperation covers education, research, and community service. Through this collaboration, we hope to bring tangible benefits to the wider community,” he said.

He also appreciated STIAMI’s initiative to provide opportunities for its lecturers and staff to continue their education at IPB University through an accelerated program. According to him, this step demonstrates STIAMI’s commitment to improving human resource capacity and institutional quality.

“IPB University is ready to provide full support with its proven academic experience and learning system so that the education process runs effectively and produces outstanding graduates,” he said.

In addition, Dr Alim appreciated STIAMI’s determination to develop innovations as done by IPB University. He emphasized that innovation is the key to national competitiveness, and through this collaboration, both institutions can share experiences, knowledge, and best practices in building a productive innovation ecosystem.
