Dissemination of Research Results from the Patriot Expedition Program, IPB Supports Economic Development in Transmigration Areas

After 57 research teams from IPB University completed field research in various transmigration areas throughout Indonesia, IPB University held the Dissemination of Research Results from the Patriot Expedition Program.

This activity was carried out as a strategic forum to present research findings based on local potential, oriented toward strengthening the economy and sustainable development of transmigration areas.

The dissemination of the Patriot Expedition research results is an effort to spread findings and knowledge from the IPB University research teams to the public. This also serves as a manifestation of commitment to encourage economic development in transmigration areas.

The Rector of IPB University, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, expressed full support for the Patriot Expedition program initiated by the Ministry of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia.

“IPB supports the Patriot Expedition from the Ministry of Transmigration because it is believed that through this program, progress and welfare of the communities in transmigration areas can be promoted based on research and local potential development,” he stated at the event held on 12/20–23 at the Swiss-Belcourt Hotel, Bogor.

In this event, presentations of field findings were delivered based on regional divisions, covering Sumatra, Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, as well as Maluku and Papua. The agenda also included a policy scenario simulation session presented by the Director of Agromaritime Community Development of IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa.

“The study results from the Patriot Expedition team mapped out the leading potentials of transmigration areas as well as the challenges in developing new economic centers. IPB University is committed to integrating research and community service in 2026 with the Patriot Expedition program,” added Handian.

The Minister of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, presented certificates to all members of the IPB University Patriot Expedition team. This serves as a symbol of appreciation for cross-sector collaboration and the strengthening of research based on local potential, for the economic development of transmigration areas and the welfare of society in the future.
