Two IPB University students have once again made Indonesia proud. Ahmad Arya Pandawa (IPB 62) and Rafialy Rachmadana Syahrul (IPB 60) won gold medals at the 2025 Hong Kong Asian Judo Open, which took place from November 19 to 22, 2025.

Their success in Hong Kong was a prestigious achievement after both of them also won gold medals at the National Sports Week (PON) Martial Arts Competition in Kudus, Central Java, on October 11-26, 2025. A month of training in preparation for the Asian competition proved to be fruitful.

“We would like to thank all our supporters and IPB University for their continued support. After this, we will continue on to the Asian championships in Hong Kong,” said Rafi before departing for Hong Kong.

Regarding the victory in Hong Kong, Dr Beginer Subhan, Director of Student Affairs at IPB University, emphasized that this achievement is proof that IPB University students can compete at the international level.

“Congratulations to the two students who have consistently achieved success at the national and international levels. This achievement is proof that IPB University is able to compete with other national athletes and bring pride to Indonesia,” he said.

In both national and international competitions, these two athletes not only represent IPB University, but also West Java and Indonesia. IPB Lucky Sport, a campus sports mentoring program, also plays a role in this consistent achievement.

“This year’s sports activities have been dynamic. However, we are very proud of the outstanding IPB students. The IPB Lucky Sport program serves as a platform for consultation and support for sports activities,” explained Abdul Qodir, SSos, MM, Supervisor of Student Sports Development.

This achievement is expected to inspire more IPB University students to compete at the national and international levels. (*/Rz) (IAAS/LAN)
