IPB University expressed its appreciation to scholarship donors for their commitment and contribution in supporting the continuity of student education. This was done through the 2025 Scholarship Donor Appreciation event held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (12/4).

On this occasion, IPB University Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, also expressed IPB’s solidarity and concern for students from Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra, following the flash floods and landslides that hit the region.

He said that IPB University students are not only dominated by those from West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten, but also many from West Sumatra and North Sumatra, which are currently experiencing disasters.

“Therefore, we hope that the scholarship donors will continue their cooperation to ensure inclusive and sustainable access to education for students from all over Indonesia,” he said.

In addition, he added that IPB University is committed to maintaining access to education, including for IPB University students. “Our principle is that no student should fail because they cannot afford the UKT (single tuition fee),” said Prof Deni.

The Director of Student Affairs at IPB University, Dr Beginer Subhan, said that the achievements of scholarship recipients were quite good. The average GPA of scholarship recipients who graduated was 3,63.

“Scholarship recipients are the driving force behind IPB’s achievements, and donors are the driving force behind these achievements. Thank you for your contribution,” he said.

Some of the achievements of scholarship recipients include I Made Manik (best speaker in the 2025 Indonesian Student Debate Competition), Fajar Ramadhan (outstanding student in West Java), and national athlete Windy Aprilyani.

Citra Ayu Shafinas, a recipient of the Pertamina Sobat Bumi scholarship from the Digital Communication and Media Study Program, IPB University Vocational School, shared her story of how she almost gave up due to financial constraints. Originally from Banyuwangi, she is now one of the best diploma graduates.

“I failed 40 competitions, and now I have won more than 60 competitions. I want to return to Banyuwangi, develop education, and become a lecturer,” she said.

She reported that the number of scholarship-granting institutions continues to increase. In 2025, there were 115 donor institutions, with a total of over 10.000 recipients from D3, D4, to S1 levels. Scholarship funds are allocated to underprivileged students (71,88%), high-achieving students (11,58%), and high-achieving and underprivileged students (6,54%).

“Thank you to the scholarship providers for not only providing financial assistance, but also organizing guidance, monitoring and evaluation, and job readiness training. There were 45 activities held, with a frequency of almost three times per month.

IPB University also runs various welfare programs from donors, such as the distribution of 25.000 fruit and milk packages, a food bank, and the Warung Kita program, which provides around 7.000 free meal packages per year. Every day, 300 free meals are available, supported by alumni.

Parche Manoto, a representative of the Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia Foundation, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the education of the younger generation. “We want to continue contributing, both financially and in terms of enhancing student capacity, in order to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045,” he said.
