IPB University’s PWD Graduate Program Initiates Research Collaboration and Student Exchange with Universities in Vietnam
The Doctoral Study Program in Regional and Rural Development Planning (PWD) of the IPB University Graduate School has embarked on a visit to Vietnam to explore potential research collaborations with several universities in Hanoi.
Fully supported by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Australia through the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) program, the delegation was led by Prof Akhmad Fauzi and accompanied by five doctoral students.
During the visit, the PWD program met with leaders of the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE). The meeting resulted in an initial agreement to establish joint research cooperation focusing on urban and environmental planning.
In addition to HUCE, further collaboration was initiated with the National Economics University (NEU), one of Vietnam’s top-ranked higher education institutions.
“These two partnerships will take the form of research collaboration and student exchange programs, with funding expected to come from various donor agencies through GOAP’s facilitation,” explained Prof Akhmad Fauzi.
During the Vietnam visit, Prof Akhmad Fauzi was also invited as a speaker at a workshop organized by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (ISPAE). He shared PWD’s experience in developing joint curriculum initiatives and various collaborative activities undertaken over the past 8 years.
According to him, this agenda aims to enhance PWD’s engagement in the international research arena. Earlier in November, he successfully facilitated the participation of 10 PWD Master’s and Doctoral students as presenters at an international conference held at Fukuoka University, Japan.
“We hope this planned collaboration progresses smoothly and that the PWD program continues to achieve outstanding accomplishments,” he said. (*Rz) (IAAS/MRM)
