Annisa Fitria, a student from the outskirts of Jakarta who is the daughter of a factory worker, became the best graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at IPB University with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3,91. She graduated on December 10, 2025, at Graha Widya Wisuda, IPB Dramaga Campus.

Annisa became the first graduate in her family thanks to the support of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU) Scholarship program. “Being able to attend college and graduate on time is an extraordinary blessing for me,” she said.

She is a graduate of Biology at FMIPA IPB University. Annisa’s interest in science and technology has been evident since childhood. She chose to study Biology because she felt it was closely related to everyday life.

“I love living things that play a big role in life, including small organisms that are often invisible,” she said.

Currently, Annisa is continuing her education through the Sinergi program in the Master of Microbiology Study Program at IPB University. Her research focuses on aquatic microbiology, specifically the microbiome and probiotics in aquaculture systems.

In the future, Annisa plans to pursue doctoral studies abroad with a scholarship. She wants to deepen her knowledge of aquatic microbiology and contribute to Indonesia’s aquaculture sector.

“I want to be involved in applied research and help aquaculture industry players utilize microbiology. Good science is science that can be felt by the community,” she said.
