IPB University Rises to 82nd Place in QS WUR Asia Rankings
IPB University has successfully risen in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) Asia University Rankings 2026, from 92nd place to 82nd place. This rise reflects an improvement in IPB University’s academic reputation, research, and international competitiveness.
In the QS WUR Asia University Ranking 2026, IPB University received a total score of 71,9. Some of the indicators with the highest scores include faculty-student ratio (98,6), international faculty (94,2), employer reputation (92,8), academic reputation (82,9), and staff with PhD (80,2).
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, said that this result reflects the hard work of the entire academic community. “We are grateful for this achievement. This is proof that IPB University is increasingly recognized in Asia and the world, while also serving as motivation to continue improving quality,” he said.
In recent years, IPB University has shown a positive trend. In the QS WUR 2026, IPB University ranked 399th in the world, jumping up from 426th in the previous year.
In the previously released QS WUR by Subject Agriculture and Forestry 2025, IPB University also managed to maintain its position as number 1 in Southeast Asia, 10th in Asia, and 49th in the world in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
According to the Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof Iskandar Z. Siregar, this progress not only has an impact on the numbers but also reflects an increasingly positive academic and scientific ecosystem.
“The rise in rankings strengthens IPB University’s appeal as the top choice for higher education in Asia, opens up opportunities for international collaboration, and enhances industry partners’ confidence in the quality of graduates,” he said.
This achievement, he continued, also signifies that domestic institutions, particularly IPB University, are capable of competing at the regional level while strengthening Indonesia’s position in the Asian higher education map.
“Moving forward, IPB University is committed to continuing to improve this achievement through sustainable strategies, by strengthening the research ecosystem, expanding international networks in line with IPB’s 2026 vision of ‘Global Engagement’, and encouraging innovation that has an impact on society,” he concluded.
