Its habitat includes forests, agricultural land, and occasionally gardens and orchards up to an elevation of 1000 mdpl above sea level. Its diet consists of frogs, toads, lizards, other snakes, and bird eggs. Non-venomous, when disturbed, this snake emits an unpleasant odor from the base of its tail.
